We are looking for an amazing freelance writer to be part of our team to
create high-value content for our inbound marketing effort.

The candidate should be capable of developing ideas, performing the necessary research and developing 200 – 2000 word blog posts relevant to Canadian audiences and with a high probability of attracting backlinks.

The primary deliverables will be:

  • Research, write and post two engaging, original blog posts per month
  • Research, write and post two social media postings per week

The duration is 3 months with the option to extend on a month to month basis

We are a digital marketing company with a focus on small-medium businesses and other organizations that provide sustainable products and services.  As such, the general theme for the postings will be at the intersection of sustainability, business and digital marketing.

Given the evolving science and practices regarding both sustainability and digital marketing, research is to be based upon sources published within the last 12 months.

Our website is currently under development.   However, we have an e-brochure available to provide context about our company.

Job Description

We’re seeking seasoned, professional writers, from across Canada, who can perform thorough research on various topics and have a keen eye for detail, a knack for data incorporation, and the ability to seamlessly adopt our “voice”.

We are currently recruiting freelance writers, with the ability to understand and write for a Canadian-based audience. The role involves developing engaging content that motivates Canadians to make better everyday lifestyle choices while adhering to brand and style guidelines.

What we are looking for:

  • A talented and versatile writer
  • Ideal candidate has experience writing for indigenous communities, particularly NWT
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication, with minimum five years of experience in blog writing that are SEO-optimized
  • A self-motivated, independently-working individual with strong project management experience
  • Perform research on different topics and be able to tell stories through data analysis by incorporating Carrot metrics
  • Write content with readers’ needs in mind
  • Ensure your pieces are accurate, objective, and inclusive
  • Establish contacts and sources to use in future research
  • Consistently high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with a positive demeanor

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a writer or journalist
  • Experience writing for indigenous communities in the NWT
  • Demonstrable portfolio of published articles
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office, digital editing, web search and databases)
  • Excellent writing skills in English
  • Ability to follow strict deadlines and fact-check information
  • Good observation skills
  • A degree in journalism, communications or relevant field in area of expertise

The role will involve the following:

  1. Working with Quill and the client to create a transcreation brief and samples for your language combination

  2. Training a team of transcreators and editors to produce work according to this brief

  3. Quality checks of ongoing work and coordinating the team to produce it

Professional Resume Writer (Edmonton Resume Centre – Canada)

This is a great, flexible role for an experienced Professional Resume Writer (CPRW an asset) that enjoys working independently on Resumes and Cover Letters as well as LinkedIn profiles. Please DO NOT apply if you haven’t worked in Employment or Career Services and/or as a Professional Resume Writer before, having completed a minimum of 50 resumes and 50 cover letters.

This is a home based position. All candidates MUST reside within Canada with a computer, internet and free Canada wide long distance. You will be working with clients who reside mostly in Alberta and BC. We are looking for a Freelance Writer who will be HOME during core business hours Monday to Friday.

**This role is ideal for those who are retired or semi retired, disabled, on leave, or who do freelance work**

Responsibilities include reviewing the client’s current document, conducting a 20-30 minute phone call with the client, and then creating a new resume and/or cover letter using our great templates.
Core requirements (aside from being an experienced Resume Writer) include the willingness to answer client inquiries by phone (1-6 calls on average per day) and conduct a telephone call with each client. Must be technically savvy (using MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, Publisher).

Experience & Requirements:
