Freelance Editor and Book Designer Wanted – Vancouver

Key Requirements: Experience in editing.  Not clear if the buyer is looking for an editor/book designer or two different people, but can’t hurt to apply.

Web Writer – Ottawa

Key Requirements:  – The candidate must be perfectly bilingual.
– Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications or writing.
– Three to five years experience writing, producing and managing content for an online medium with a thorough understanding of writing and editing expressly for the Web.
– Demonstrated proofreading/editing skills.
– Experience writing for publication and a familiarity with web standards.
– Understanding of use of the Web for creating integrated and strategic communications for external constituents.
– Project management experience.
– Previous experience working with a content management system to create and manage Web content.
– Familiarity with standard Web tools and programming languages (html/xhtml, CSS, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Dreamweaver).
– Experience in creating, editing and optimizing graphics and images for use on the Web.
– Experience with best practices of information architecture, structuring and organizing content, and usability is preferred.
– A strong understanding of search engine optimization and keyword placement.
